Philippe Banet

(41yo) Associate professor at LPPI (CY) since 2008

Research Topics: his research focus on electrochemical biosensors, air pollutant sensors, supercapacitors and high performance polymer networks. In the field of biosensors, his research deals with biofunctionnalization of electrodes by self-assembled monolayers or electrochemical deposit of conducting polymers. In addition he is interested in the use of nanomaterials (metallic nanoparticles, carbon nanotubes) to develop new sensing process and enhance sensitivity of electrochemical biosensors.

His work also consists in evaluating device performances. Concerning the energy storage, his research also deals with nanomaterials and conducting polymer to improve capacitance, energy and power of pseudocapacitors. The part of his research on high performance polymer networks deals with the synthesis and characterization of new polymer for encapsulation in power electronics. He is also involved in lifetime study of these materials.
